Some time ago my lj-friend [info]me_cuppa posted a comment about things which are able to make your life very unpleasant. I’ll try to retell her comment in English.

Most of people keep *to-do-list* of things in their mind. The things that must be done, but aren’t always welcomed, being boring or scaring or troublesome. These things may be of global importance, or of great importance, or even of little importance, but they are ought to be done. You know in your mind that you must do something but you put it off til tomorrow. And till tomorrow, and till tomorrow, and... to infinity.

I’ve realized that I have a huge list of these things nowadays. I have many reasons to excuse myself for not doing them but… Never mind. So I said myself: “One thing a day, Ann, and you’ll be fine”. One step a day. Even the longest road begins with your first step.

My first step has been done yesterday. Simple but important, it was. I ironed a huge amount of linen! *lol* And I had my daily work-out too. Today I’ve done two not-so-important but good-for-me phone-calls. Hope I’ll hold on for one more week at least! ;)

Work like you don't need the money.
Love like you've never been hurt.
Dance like nobody's watching.
Sing like nobody's listening.
Dream like you'll live forever.

Happiness is a journey, not a destination.

I found accidentally a livejournal by young photographer Masha Kharchenko - [info]berry_eater. She died in May. She was only 24.

Please, take a look. Her photos are as bright as her sincere heart.

I didn’t know you, but rest in peace, Masha.

These clouds are wonderful. So delicate and airy. And a bit of sad somehow. I found this pic here and it reminded me of the fic Charcoal, Stone, and Cloud by shadow975.

P.S. It's been awhile I post something in my journal. I forgot even my nickname here *lol*

Tonight at 11.45 p.m. I'm going to see the first part of the "Jeeves and Wooster" (tv-channel "Culture", Russia). I love some stories about Jeeves by Wodehouse but never had a chance to see this well-known tv-serial.

BTW I'm becoming a great admirer of English serials *happy grins* My current favourite is "The Thin Blue Line"! Some days ago I bought it on DVD and now it gives me great pleasure to see it every evening!

Hi, all! Hope you've had good Christmas' and New Year's holidays.

My trip to Moscow was splendid. Great company, old friends, remembrances about the past, silly jokes, night talks, New Year fireworks, guitar, singing songs… and besides all these – Moscow spring-ish winter. Such warm and not-too-much-snowing kind of winter is the best for traveling and walking. I always said: 'There is Paris’s winter in Russia nowadays'.

I've bought some books in Moscow. Silly me! *lol* Old habits die hard. I thought: 'The trip is fine but it'll be better to get some tangible things from it'. I've bought Longman Active Study Dictionary, some HR manual, two books for English learners (one about grammar – grammar tests, other about practical skills of auding). I've been doing my best to restrain myself from buying more English reference books. They're too expensive. I know perfectly well: to buy more books usually means to stop studying language at all. It's kinda replacement (подмена). You don't need a great amount of modern self-studying references to improve you English. All you need is desire to study the language. So when you don't want to study English you try to pretend you're doing your best to study it buying books. I don't know about everybody but *I* always do it so ;)

And [info]me_cuppa!!! I've bought finally a book about colors. Not the book I was searching (the same you told me some time ago), but another. The book is very pretty from the outside but not much helpful inside. No, it's good, but the author of the book isn't Russian, so main defect of the book is odd callings of colors in translation. For example NAVY translates as 'цвет военно-морской формы' not something kinda 'deep dark blue'.

And bad it is. I’m fucking depressed although it’s absolutely not my way of living.
First, two last weeks I was visiting ophthalmologic clinic (I have bad eyes). I was given seven injections in a day there. They hurt like hell! Second, my wallet was stolen a few days ago. Third, we’re going to Moscow in New-year holidays, but I’m sick with cold and not getting better... Life is unfair. Boo hoo hoo.

P.S. But not soooo bad ;)
My dear friend [info]me_cuppa gave a link to the lj-post where you can choose *your* favorite new-year tree. They are so wonderful! It’s mine:

Friday evening my friend and me had sorta *beer's party*. I mean we drank different sorts of beer: Miller, Amstel, Guiness, Pilsner and something else, I don't even remember *lol*

Well, the taste of Pilsner was a little too bitter then I usually prefer. Amstel was good, Miller was more then good. Mild but pleasant taste of Miller reminded me that Miller is American brand… Do you know that joke about American beer? - "It's like sex in a canoe. It's fucking close to water." It is. BTW I've read that Miller beer is for females.

But we was really shocked when we filled our glasses with Guiness. It was my first meeting with Guiness (and I'm afraid the last one *lol*) Color of this liquid looked more like Coca Cola or Pepsi and no way like beer. The taste of it was… dreadful. We've drunk it but without enthusiasm. Now I've understood why Viggo had troubles with Guiness beer in the fic "A pint of Guiness" *mentally shakes Viggo's hand*

I was kinda sad and depressed yesterday evening. So I decided to cheer myself up. I checked my VHS supplies and found something what's able to distract me from bad thoughts. My first choice was the VHS where I've been recording my favorite comic (KVN) sketches. Then I found Dogma movie's VHS. And it was really funny to see this movie since about 5 years interval!
